Wolfgang Mozart was born in January of 1756 into a musical family. His father recognized the gift of his children and gave most of his time and energy to their careers. Mozart and his sister went to Europe on a tour, playing music for the people of high social position. He could listen to any piece of music once and then play it from memory. He could play the keyboard with eyes covered. Music that Mozart wrote at the age of five was as good as works by many adult musicians.
When Mozart was a young man, he fell in love and married a German girl. Although his family did not accept this marriage, the young couple enjoyed their life together. Mozart earned a living selling his music, giving performances, and providing music lessons to the wealthy. Some of his operas are still performed today.
By the spring of 1791 Mozart was ill and depressed. He was deeply in debt (债务). His health became worse and worse. A stranger asked Mozart to write a musical piece for a dead person. Reuse is a well-known idea for dealing with electronic waste such as old computers and phones. Many companies send used electronic items from the US to developing nations. They claim to be reusing those items, and also helping the developing nations to modernize themselves. However, the truth may be quite different.
The Basel Action Network of Seattle, Washington, recently reported that three-quarters of the electronic items shipped to Lagos, Nigeria, are in fact broken. As a result, lots of electronic waste is thrown away along rivers and roads. Often it is picked by the very poor, who come in contact with toxic (有毒的) things in the broken equipment. Some of those things are especially dangerous to the health of growing children.
Richard of the Basel Action Network believes companies in developed nations are actually throwing away their electronic waste cheaply, leaving the developing world to deal with the problems it causes.

Sometimes what we post online can have results we didn’t expect. One weekend, 20-year-old James posted on his Facebook page that his job was “so boring”. When he got to work on Monday his boss fired him, and gave him a letter. It said: “After reading your comments on Facebook about our company, we understand you are not happy with your work. We think it is better for you to look for something that you will find more interesting.”
Fifteen-year-old Cathy posted an invitation to her birthday party online. She posted her address, too. When her parents got back that evening, they couldn’t believe their eyes. There were 500 people at the party, and they made a mess (混乱) of the house.
Most teenagers think they know everything about what to do online, and that things like this could never happen to them. A study shows that last year alone, more than three million young people got into trouble because of their online activities.
Here are some important tips that will help you to be safer online.
·Share with care! Think before you post something. You can never completely control who sees your texts, pictures, or videos.
·Be polite when you write! Politeness matters. No one likes it when you “shout” in your messages.
·Protect and respect! Don’t share your passwords, home or email address with anyone. Don’t pass false information about others.
26. Why was James fired
A. His company failed. B. He wrote a letter to his boss.
C His boss read his comments. D. He found a more interesting job.
27. What is the problem with Cathy’s birthday party
A. She didn’t post her invitation online. B. No friends came to her party.
C. She forgot to post her address online. D. The visitors put her house into a mess.
28. What’s the writer’s advice for teenagers when they’re online
A. Sharing pictures as they like. B. Shouting in their messages.
C. Being polite when writing online. D. Posting personal information.
29. What can we learn about teenagers from the text
A. They are not satisfied with Facebook.
B. They can control who sees their online posts.
C. They know everything about what to do online.
D. They may have problems from their online activities.
30. What might be the best title for the text
A. Online Invitation B. Think Carefully Before Acting Online
C. Online Politeness D. Avoid Passing False Information Online
