Language points
for real
what’s more
as a result
used to
die out
as happy as a clam
as dead as a dodo
1. Actually, there used to be thousands of us - for real.
used to...
Jimmy used to live here.
This is not a joke. I am for real.
2. What a peaceful and safe life!
What a clever boy he is!
What a beautiful song you sing!
How lovely the flower is!
What a lovely flower it is!
How beautifully you sing!
3. What's more, their pigs, cats and dogs ate our eggs.

4. As a result, we soon died out.

football match.
This animal died out millions of years ago.
5. Make them as happy as a clam, not as dead as a dodo.
as happy as a clam是一个英文习语,省略了后面的at high water (涨潮),意为“非常高兴的,相当满足的”。
Homework
